At Awaken Education, our partnership with schools for wraparound care is collaborative and seamlessly aligned with each school's vision. We promise strong communication with both schools and parents to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment. Our thoughtfully crafted timetable for breakfast and after-school clubs incorporates the seven strands of learning: Communication and Language, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design. Our holistic and wholesome approach centres around play to ignite imaginations and dreams, with a keen focus on inclusivity so that all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), can engage and thrive in our sessions.
Our play facilitators are well-equipped with knowledge in behaviour management, using positive reinforcement to maintain high expectations and strong routines. We prioritise balanced, healthy meals and snacks to support children's physical and mental wellbeing, recognising the critical role of breakfast as vital fuel for learning. With 4 million children at risk of hunger every day in the UK, schools offering wraparound care and a healthy breakfast can directly impact those at risk. Our staff hold Food Handling and Hygiene Level 2 qualifications, ensuring that students receive the best care and nutrition.

Collaborating with Awaken Education offers financial benefits as well. Schools can earn up to £10,000 in hall hire fees, which can be reinvested into improving school facilities.
Easy Booking System
Managing attendance and registers can be complex, especially with parents' changing schedules. Awaken Education provides an online booking system, allowing parents to book and pay for places directly, and generates registers automatically.

An expert play facilitator from Awaken Education can offer a diverse range of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, community and wellbeing sessions. This variety exposes children to new experiences, fosters social interaction, encourages teamwork, and boosts confidence.
Promote Key Values
Wraparound childcare also provides an opportunity for schools to reinforce their ethos. Sessions can be tailored to highlight key messages and areas of focus, making them relevant to the school's values.

Engaging in stimulating activities before or after school can enhance a child's cognitive function, engagement, and confidence. Sessions focused on specific sports provide physical benefits, which is crucial in combating childhood obesity and meeting the recommended 60 minutes of daily physical activity.

For wraparound care, just like in schools, it is essential to provide high-quality services for all children. Awaken Education follow these steps to help ensure that any additional needs are properly considered when setting up a wraparound care facility:
- Understand Needs: Identify how many children at the school have Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plans and what would be required if they were to attend before or after-school clubs. This ensures preparedness regardless of whether a child books in advance or at the last minute.
- Engage Early: Hold early meetings with parents to understand any additional needs.
- Half-Term Review: Before each half-term, review the list of children booked to attend and check for any SEND requirements or health needs.
Steps To Success
This is the process we will follow to ensure that the Wrap Around Care in your school is aligned with your ethos and values, seamless setting up period, promotion of our provision and the continuum of strong communication throughout the academic year. Here are our 5 Steps to Success to showcase what our commitment to this offering will feel like:
- Arrange meeting with WAC Area Lead and School to discuss school prioties, expectations and venue cost.
- Proposed Curriculum and venue agreement to be circulated and agreed with school. Contant lines to be established. Arrange lunch time drop in and parent meet and greet to promote new provision.
- Promote new WAC offering with lunch time drop- ins, social media, parent meet and greet. Booking channels will open.
- Begin sessions. Maintain high quality communications with the school and parents/ carers. Weekly praise to be shared with the school and parents/ carers.
- Termly meetings with school to re-evaluate delivery and ammend if necessary. Review SEND information. Collate parent/ carer and young people feedback to further enhance provision.
